Summer in the valley: humidity and bugs
The Lost River valley is green and humid in summer, and that moisture keeps a mini split’s drain system busy all season. A slow condensate line, algae in the drain pan or a blower wheel starting to grow mold usually shows up first as a drip or a smell, often on the hottest week of the year.
Outdoor units in the country also attract insects. Wasps and mud daubers build in sheltered corners, and ants are drawn to electrical components.
