Protect your mini split’s circuit boards from bad power
Surges, sags and unstable power can damage the electronics inside a modern mini split. A voltage monitor on each outdoor unit helps protect your system from bad power.
A guard between the power line and your system
The monitor is installed at your outdoor unit and watches the incoming power. When voltage goes outside a safe range, too high or too low, it disconnects the unit before the electronics take the hit. Once power is stable again, it waits a short delay and then lets the system restart.
- Surges and spikes from storms or utility switching
- Brownouts and low voltage, which make motors and compressors strain
- Rapid on-off power flickers that can stress the compressor
Circuit boards are the most sensitive part of your system
Inverter electronics
Modern mini splits use inverter boards to vary speed and save energy. Those boards don’t tolerate voltage problems well.
Rural power
Storms, long utility lines and outages are part of life here. A monitor adds a layer of protection every time the power acts up.
Coverage limits
Board replacement parts aren’t covered by our labor plans, and Tier 2 labor coverage excludes damage from power surges. Prevention is the better deal.
Voltage monitor pricing
Installed, per outdoor unit
Installed, per outdoor unit
Every outdoor unit on Tier 3 needs a working monitor to be certified. Strongly recommended on Tiers 1 and 2.
If a monitor stops working
Call us as soon as possible and we’ll come out promptly to fix it. On Tiers 1 and 2, the $119 member service call applies unless it’s covered by the Service Call add-on. On Tier 3, the service call and the replacement monitor are both fully covered.
Protect your system before the next storm
Add a voltage monitor at your next maintenance visit, or call to schedule an install.
